Diving scuttled ships in Pattaya is only possible in low current conditions, so dives need to be planned ahead.
HTMS Khram. Located near Koh Pai, max depth 30 meters, the deck sits at 24-26 meters. Over the years underwater it has turned into an artificial coral reef, teeming with marine life. Large schools of barracuda and turtles are common sights. Interior compartments are accessible for properly trained divers.
HTMS Kut. The twin of HTMS Khram, scuttled near Koh Sak.
HTMS Mathaphon. Located next to Koh Larn, depth down to 20 meters, with interior compartments accessible. A large number of concrete structures have been sunk around the ship, now covered in corals and attracting all kinds of marine life.
Hardeep wreck (SS Saddhadip). Accessible when departing from the Samaesan fishing village. Sank after an attack on this transport vessel in 1945. Probably the most interesting of Pattaya's scuttled ships. It lies on its side, and the ship's position allows you to freely swim into the interior. Over the years underwater it has become a big coral reef but still kept its shape. Sunrays streaming through numerous holes in the hull create stunning light patterns inside the ship, making this wreck one of Pattaya's top spots for underwater photography or just a great dive. Depths down to 30 meters.
Koh Pai. A large island with several dive sites on different sides, which means you can dive here in varying currents and wind conditions. Depths are fairly shallow, ideal for beginners, and also great for certified divers as a relaxed second dive after a deep dive on the HTMS Khram wreck, which sits right next to this island.
Koh Klung Badan. Dive spots near the island are sheltered from currents at both high and low tide. Suitable for beginners and certified divers alike. An interesting coral reef with depths down to 15 meters. Drift dives are possible when currents are running.
Koh Hu Chang. A small rock between Koh Pai and Koh Klung Badan. The dive site is a garden of corals shaped like giant burdock leaves, packed with marine life. The key requirement for a comfortable dive here is slack current.
Koh Man Wichai. The dive spots are on the south side of the island. Several coral ridges dropping into the deep and a vertical rock wall make this one of the most interesting and beautiful dive sites in the Pattaya area.
Koh Rin. By common consensus, the best diving in Pattaya. The best visibility of them all, lots of dive sites including two nearby rocks - North Rock and South Rock. Depths down to 30 meters, with the chance to do some really cool drift dives. Unfortunately, the area is quite often closed to visitors by the military.
Koh Sak. The island's position shelters it from tidal current and from waves when the wind is from the south. Dive sites are on both the east and west sides. The marine life is diverse, depths down to 14 meters. Visibility is generally lower than at other sites.
Koh Krok. Probably the most interesting of Pattaya's near islands. One side of the island is a long coral reef hosting pretty much every species of marine life found in the Gulf of Thailand. There's a very high chance of encountering large sea turtles that are completely unfazed by divers, letting you observe them and even snap photos together. Depth down to 10 meters.
Koh Larn. The largest of Pattaya's near islands. It has many beaches and is visited daily by loads of tourists - there are ferries running from Pattaya. The spots worth diving are on the south side of the island. No current during low tide, and drift diving is possible during high tide. A diverse coral reef, plenty of fish, and among the corals you can find octopus, interesting mollusks, moray eels. Stonefish, pufferfish, seahorses and much more are also spotted here. High chance of meeting a big turtle. Depths down to 15 meters.
